The Instruments of Fate trilogy

The Destined Road, #1

The introductory tale to the world of Vostheloren, our heroine, Tagwen Braithe, and discovering a story of intertwining fates.

Much of Vostheloren’s history is lost. The formerly united realms of men, elves, and dwarves have retreated to separate corners of the world, deeply suspicious of one another. Most remember only war, fear, and a darkness, known as the “horizon of storms,” that bloomed across the seas. Thousands of years have passed since the shadow first appeared, but now the evil, once thought vanquished, lies in wait, threatening to destroy all who challenge it.

Tagwen Braithe, newly ascended queen of Yeacralas, the southern realm of men, has taken up the throne after the death of her father. She knows little of her world’s tumultuous past and even less about how to fill her father’s shoes. Many consider her title unearned, so when she answers an urgent call from a neighboring kingdom, she considers it her chance to prove her mettle to the people she is sworn to protect. But as she discovers, her journey will be the beginning of the world’s darkening end and she will be forced to embark on an odyssey that will take her beyond the call of duty and reveal her true destiny.

The Shattered Shores, #2

All that is lost must be found before it is too late. Can Tagwen secure what she needs to prevent the coming of the endless shadow?

Vanished across the horizon of storms, Queen Tagwen Braithe finds herself in the fabled lands of the East – alone. With no guidance, recognition, or status, she must not only convince those of this land that her origins are true, but also that the world’s time is running out, as Ruèhnar comes ever closer to enacting his plans of vengeance.

Meanwhile, those that remain in Vostheloren are still left with the growing assault on the Realms, the harrowing task of finding the Quill of Avantèas, and the assumed loss of the queen.

Now both sides of the world must secure their positions in time to prevent the coming of the endless shadow.

The Shattered Shores is the highly anticipated Book Two of the Instruments of Fate trilogy that is a tale of loss and survival, betrayal and forgiveness, and the merciless consequences that come with navigating them all.

The Horizon of Storms, #3

Unbound from the confines of his shrouding prison, Ruèhnar has risen to his fullest power; the last of the Èlavïl’s light that had held him at bay extinguished from the world.

Though separated no longer by the treachery of the Rift, all of the former lands of Vostheria are now consumed by his shadow, giving the Dark Army freedom of passage as they stalk the landscape to carry out their Master’s bidding.

He searches now for the final piece of the Instruments of Fate: a weapon born of its antithesis to rid the lands of Eïlè from all manner of creature that will not submit to his rule. Convinced that she who carries it also carries the familial line of the Blessed Ones, Ruèhnar will stop at nothing to ensure its destruction and claim himself once and for all, King.

Tagwen now stands upon the precipice of the end, finding herself the only one with the ability to bring about his downfall. The only question remains: will she?
